equating (almost) MMA with staged wrestling shows how little you know about MMA. An MMA fighter needs the skills of karate/taekwon-do (kicks and other strikes), judo (takedowns), wrestling (grappling, or Brazilian jiu-jitsu), and aikido (arm bars, chokes, etc.).
